About the Fortitude Centre

Take the time to strengthen yourself

The Fortitude Centre is a psychological care and therapeutic retreat centre located in Sainte-Mélanie, in the heart of a natural environment conducive to rest, reflection and well-being.

Our mission is to offer professional mental health services in a supportive, confidential setting tailored to each individual's reality. We believe that sometimes it's necessary to step away from the daily grind to gain perspective, better understand one's experiences, and initiate lasting change.

The Centre offers services including psychotherapy, psychology, psychoeducation, psychological assessment, and personalized support. Accommodation, balanced meals, rest periods, and outdoor activities support the therapeutic process.

Our Mission

An approach tailored to your reality

At Centre Fortitude, stays are organized by type of client in order to offer each person a coherent, reassuring environment that respects their needs.

Adults traveling alone participate in weeks specifically designed for them. Young people are welcomed with their families in a separate program. Couples and families also benefit from stays and accommodations tailored to their needs.

This organization prevents clients from being mixed without regard to their needs. A person coming alone to rest and receive psychological care is therefore not housed with families or young children. Similarly, families, couples, and young people benefit from an environment that respects their privacy and their individual journey.

An environment that promotes care and rejuvenation

The Fortitude Centre is not a hotel or simply a holiday destination. It is a place for psychological care where rest, nature and adapted activities support the therapeutic work.

The days may include meetings with professionals, workshops, moments of reflection, periods of rest, as well as activities chosen according to needs and seasons.

Located near the Parc des Chutes, the Centre also allows you to enjoy nature through walking, snowshoeing, cycling, outdoor activities, horseback riding or equine therapy, yoga, massage therapy and care for the animals present on the site.

Stays for different types of clientele

Adults coming alone

Stays of at least one week are available for adults who wish to take care of their mental health in a calm and natural environment. The residences are designed to accommodate only single adults, with separate spaces for women and men, as well as the possibility of private accommodation depending on needs and availability.

Young people accompanied by their families

These stays are for young people aged 5 to 17 with mental health needs, accompanied by one or more parents, stepparents, or siblings. Each family has its own residence to promote privacy, care, and quality family time.

Couples

Therapeutic retreats for couples experiencing conflict, distance, bereavement, a major transition, or another shared challenge. Each couple benefits from a private space, with the option of separate accommodations when necessary.

Families

Stays are available for families with members aged 14 and over. Services can support families experiencing recurring conflicts, past traumas, communication difficulties, attachment issues, adoption, bereavement, or a desire to improve their family dynamics.

Businesses, stakeholders and the general public

The Centre also offers customized services to businesses, managers, work teams, stakeholders, and the general public. Training sessions and retreats can be offered with or without accommodation, depending on the organization's needs.

A core team and external collaborators

The Fortitude Centre relies on senior professionals in psychology, psychoeducation, and mental health. They provide needs assessments, care planning, and therapeutic support.

Depending on the situation and client needs, the Centre also collaborates with qualified external professionals. This collaboration allows it to offer complementary services, particularly for corporate retreats, training for stakeholders, and activities offered to the general public.

Our commitment

We are committed to providing a respectful, safe and confidential environment where every person can be welcomed with attentive listening, dignity and professionalism.

Each case is unique. That's why we take the time to understand our clients' needs in order to offer a stay and care tailored to their situation.
