Psychological assessment and psychotherapy

Psychological assessment helps to better understand the difficulties experienced, the factors that influence psychological health, and the objectives to be worked on during the process.

This step helps to determine the most appropriate support and to establish a personalized care plan.

Psychotherapy then offers a confidential space to explore difficulties, develop new strategies, and foster lasting change. The approaches used draw primarily on cognitive-behavioral and humanistic perspectives, always respecting each individual's pace and needs.

Psychology, psychoeducation and occupational therapy in mental health

The professionals at the Centre work in various areas of mental health to offer comprehensive and tailored support.

Psychology makes it possible, in particular, to assess and treat various psychological, relational or emotional difficulties.

Psychoeducation helps people to better understand how they function, to develop their coping skills and to acquire concrete tools to face the challenges of everyday life.

Occupational therapy in mental health can support a return to more satisfactory functioning in personal, social, or professional life. It specifically aims to develop or restore the cognitive, emotional, and social skills necessary for daily living.

Individualized support

Each client benefits from support tailored to their situation.

Individual meetings allow for direct work on the personal, relational, or family goals established at the beginning of the stay. The support provided can evolve throughout the week according to observed needs and the team's recommendations.

Workshops may also be offered to address topics related to psychological well-being, stress management, relationships, communication, self-esteem, or coping strategies.

These workshops complement individual care and allow learning to be consolidated in a respectful and safe environment.

A multidisciplinary approach

The Fortitude Centre prioritizes a collaborative approach. Professionals work together to provide consistent care tailored to each client's goals.

Depending on the needs identified during the assessment or during the stay, the Centre may also collaborate with qualified external professionals.

These collaborations may include complementary services in kinesiology, physiotherapy, nutrition, medicine or other areas relevant to the client's approach.

This approach makes it possible to offer comprehensive support, without losing sight of the main objective: to support the psychological health and well-being of the individual, couple or family.

The presence of animals at the Centre

The Fortitude Centre also offers an environment where the presence of animals can contribute to a feeling of calm and security.

The horses, dogs, cats, and small animals present on the site may be part of certain activities or experiences at the Centre. For many people, contact with animals promotes relaxation, grounding in the present moment, and a non-judgmental relationship.

Activities with animals, including horseback riding or equine therapy when offered, are always integrated in a way that is appropriate to the needs, abilities and objectives of the clientele.

Animals are only allowed within the Centre's grounds. They are not permitted in the accommodation buildings.

Care supported by rest and nature

The Centre's psychologists offer clinical assessments that help clients better understand the presence of psychopathology, identify the underlying causes affecting their mental health, and define goals to be addressed during psychotherapy to achieve improved well-being. The primary approaches are cognitive-behavioral and humanistic.
